CartWatch – Privacy Policy

CartWatch is a Chrome extension that reads your Amazon order history to help you track monthly spending against a budget. This policy explains what data is accessed, how it is stored, and what is done with it.

What data is stored

When you run a scan, CartWatch saves the following to your browser's local storage:

• Order dates, amounts, and product names
• Shipping recipient names
• Payment method descriptive names as shown on your Amazon order page (e.g. "Visa ending in 1234") — this is the label Amazon displays, not your actual card number or any sensitive payment details
• Your monthly budget amount

All data is stored only on your device using Chrome's built-in local storage. It is never transmitted to any server.

What CartWatch does not do

• Does not collect analytics or usage data
• Does not use cookies
• Does not share any data with third parties
• Does not communicate with any external servers
• Does not access your Amazon account credentials or login information

Permissions used

• Storage – to save your orders and budget locally on your device
• Tabs – to detect which Amazon site you have open and to open a temporary background tab during a scan
• Scripting – to read order data from Amazon order history pages

Data removal

You can delete all stored data at any time using the "Clear data" button inside the extension. Uninstalling the extension also removes all stored data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, the "Last updated" date above will be updated. Continued use of the extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
